Zoos and Farms

They have wonderful events for kids, including their Boo at the Zoo during Halloween. Become a member, (definitely worth it at just $89 a year, 2 adults and all kids under 18) and you have access to the Treehouse, Free parking and discounts on loads of great educational classes for you little ones. Savings tip: Weekdays only now through the end of February you just pay the weather. So if the temp is in the 50's you pay just $5, in the 40's- $4 and so on. Can't beat that!!! Johnson's Corner Farm, Medford, NJ. Looking for tons of seasonal fun? Then Johnson's is your place. Bring in each season with a hayride and seasonal fruit-picking excursions. They just opened up their Discovery Barnyard for kids! We go pumpkin and apple picking around Halloween just before Christmas. They also have great family fun events for the holidays, you can make a wreath, decorate gingerbread and meet with Santa. Sounds like fun! (This probably makes for great pictures for all you Scrapbookers out there) Check out thier website, they have great events for the family all year round!

Merry Mead Farms, Lansdale Pa. We love this place to go. They have a great petting zoo, amazing ice cream and fun events for the kids. It's accessible and there is something to do for everyone. While you are there try some of their award swinning milk and those fresh baked amazing apple pies! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!

Freddy Hill Farms, Landale Pa. Ah yes another farm, but with beautiful weather and fruits and vegetables in season, you can't go wrong. And what's better than a farm with animals, a miniture golf course and a batting cage? They also have great events year round and a great farm store with all the fresh dairy and baked goods you could ask for. This is also a nice place to hold a brithday party. With a little golfing, pizza and ice cream under thier covered picnic benches, it's a ll in one! Gotta love that!

Pennypack Farm,Horsham, Pa. Pennypack Farm and Education Center works by the mission statement that, "making local sustainable agriculture an important part of our community through farming, education, and community events". Not only do they make sustainable agriculture but they donate to local food cupboards and they hold a varitey of events and educational classess for kids and adults of all ages throughout the year.

Elmwood Park Zoo, Norristown, Pa Founded in 1924, the Elmwood Park Zoo is a fun, clean and educational family oriented place. The Zoo contains the best of both worlds, offering a clean envirornment for the children to experience the animals up close and a park for them to play in. The Elmwood Zoo offeres events throughout the year and is great for group trips and birthday parties (hint, hint).
